get FREE traffic to your site using BANNER marketing
October 26th, 2008. Published under how to, network marketing, network marketing tools and tips. 1 Comment.
Banners are a good way to generate traffic to your site. Although some are not as targeted as you would like however banners are enticing for people to click on.
Post your affliate or business banners:
- on your website or
- blog if you have one
- use them in your emails
- post them where ever you think is a good fit for the type of people you are targeting.
Below are some of my recommended resources of some good places to advertise your banners. Some are free and others may have a cost to them, but very minimal. I would recommend that you try some paid and free resources to see which works best for you.
- http://www.Google.com/adwords- If you have a Google Adwords campaign up and running, create a new “site targeted” campaign, and choose “image” advertising. Google will automatically place your banner ads on all web sites that are relevant to the keywords you select!
- http://www.WAHM.com - This web site gets BIG traffic and it’s a great place to advertise. All of the ads on this site are auctioned off on ebay. You can find more details on their site.
- http://www.AdBrite.com - A VERY reputable company. You pay per thousand impressions.

top 5 classic sneakers of all time?
October 6th, 2008. Published under cool and fun. 3 Comments.
Yes you guessed it I am a sneaker freak. Love my sneakers and bought another pair today so I thought I outline my top 5 sneakers of ALL time! This was a tough one but I soon got there! Totally off topic here but just thought I post a fun topic
Number 5
‘New Balance was born in Cambridge, MA in 1906 by 33-year old English immigrant, William J. Riley. Riley had a specific concern with foot health that led him into the field of prescription footwear. Up until this time, very few shoes took into consideration the shape of the bottom of the foot, specifically the arch. In 1934, Riley partnered with his leading salesman, Arthur Hall, who took Riley’s products to policemen, postal workers, and others who spent a majority of their working day on their feet.
Despite the success of the company, it took another four years until New Balance shoes entered into the sporting world. While the shoes were relatively low key in the sporting world, they did appear on many long distance runners feet, especially marathoners. In the 1950’s the company was passed down to Riley’s relatives and in 1961 the company focused on the sports industry. The result of the new focus of the company was the Trackster. This shoe was unique withwidth fittings and a rippled sole.
The New Balance as we know it began in 1972 on the day of the Boston Marathon when Jim Davis purchased the company. When Davis took over the company, the company was making only 30 models of shoes and had only six full-time employees. Only three years later in 1975, Tom Fleming won the New York Marathon wearing the New Balance 320. Also in 75, the New Balance 320 was voted the best running shoe by Runner’s World magazine.
Though New Balance has never been a top selling company, its reputation of quality is unmatched. Many refer to its following as almost cult status by some runners who will not ever try running in anything but New Balance shoes. In addition to a quality fit, New Balance has earned the reputation of using the highest quality materials on their shoes.
While many multinational footwear companies constantly look for the cheapest labor source, New Balance has done just the opposite producing its top models in the USA and England. This move has been noticed and appreciated by sneaker fans looking for a comfortable and well built shoe.’

Brand History
The astonishing Tiger story
Run like a Tiger
‘The founder of the now well-known shoes and apparel brand ASICS had already led an adventurous life, when in 1949, at the age of 31, he entered a new phase in his life. After years in the military and having worked for a company who bought and sold beer on the black market, Onitsuka decided that sports could play an important role in rebuilding the self-esteem of the youngsters in Japan. He learned how to manufacture shoes and founded Onitsuka Co Ltd. It was the start of a company that would develop into one of the five largest brands in the world market of sports shoes.’

social bookmarking - the benefits!
October 5th, 2008. Published under how to, network marketing, network marketing tools and tips. 2 Comments.
Hi again, and welcome to the first post in my ‘How-to’ series. That is HOW TO get more traffic to your site! and remember that TRAFFIC IS KING! for any online business.
There will be several of them and I will add a post weekly so make sure you subscribe! Here you will learn about some ideas, techniques and tools that I use to drive traffic to my site for FREE!
OK so lets get started!
SOCIAL BOOKMARKING
what is it?
Social bookmarking in its simplest form allows you to store and organise your websites on the Internet than on your browser settings. You can then arrange, store, display these websites and share them with others.
Generally it is done in the public domain so as an Internet marketer it is the ideal scenario! Social bookmarking lets people discover what other people are interested in and how they are labeling or ‘tagging’ their websites based on keywords. So people can tag bookmarks to catergorise them and others can comment on them hence creating a complex and highly influencial network.
what are the benefits?
You can immediately see the benefits of Social bookmarking.
- You can generate a huge amount of traffic by bookmarking your sites and sharing them with others with tags and keywords
- Traffic will also be relevant and traffic that fits your site!
- If you have good and fresh content on your site you will not only receive relevant traffic but you will get repeat visits
- AND this one is the most powerful - Search Engines are attracted to these and I really mean it. This is one of the quickest ways to have search engines crawl your site especially if you are submitting to big and popular bookmarking sites.
- It is fast - Fast in the sense that it can work quickly for you! The search engines will respond quickly and get traffic and action within minutes simply because social bookmarking content changes as a news channel but MUCH faster!
So you can see that not only you will get loads of relevant traffic but your site will get discovered quite quickly by major search engines generating all kinds of possibilities for growth and expansion.
purpose of Social bookmarking?
The purpose of Social bookmarking is pretty obvious - people want to network and share their favourite information. They want to access their favourite websites from work, home, on holidays, anyplace they really want to. So the purpose of an Internet/Network Marketer is to get in the flow of information, gain good visibility, and encourage search engine crawlers to pay attention to their website.
who uses bookmarks?
Social bookmarking hasn’t been around for very long however it is growing exponentially everyday. This is a huge dynamic area of the Internet. People use it for various reasons but more and more people use it for business and technology. People also use it to collect and organise resources for a specific group so the more people participate for their groups the more effective it will be!
bookmarking for marketers!
As an Entrepreneur you want to:-
- Get to the heart of of bookmarking as it relates to marketing
- Use Social bookmarking to attract attention and to attract search engines
- You know that there is a lot of movement from the Internet occurring in bookmarking
- You know that visitors will be relevant and specific to your niche and not random
- You know that proper tagging on bookmarking sites will direct the search engines in a way that makes sense and get you ranked according to proper keywords.
so where to get started?
This is probably what you guys have been waiting for - so apologies for going through the background as I feel its important to know why we are doing what we are doing and the relevance it has. Besides you are learning right?
OK the quickest and fastest way to submit your site or blog posts is to use a FREE tool called SocialMarker.
So go to: http://www.socialmarker.com
I recommend you use FireFox as a browser so you can drag the icon to the tool bar. Follow the instructions in the website and get started! Some tips:
- There are over 40-50 sites there if you select ‘All’. Just select ‘Best’ and it narrows it down to the best and most popular sites. You will be amazed on how much traffic you can get from a site like ‘Digg.com’ or ‘Stumbleupon.com’ alone!
- If you want to do them all and have the time - then by all means go for it
- I suggest you register and create an account with all of the ‘Best’ bookmarking sites as most of them will require log-in and are very aware of spam-bots
- The initial stages may take some time but remember that ALL successful Internet/Network Marketers do it and spend time doing this!
- I wouldn’t recommend paid services to do it for you as I just don’t trust them in terms of submitting relevant material.
Social bookmarking traffic avalanche!
Another great technique to encourage and easily allow people to bookmark items from your site is to start from the bottom. What I mean here is to make sure that your bookmark images appear at the bottom of every post whether it is a video, post, blog, article or whatever! Make it easy for them to bookmark!
Even people who don’t use or know much about bookmarking can easily start using it! You can get the bookmark buttons and code here:- http://www.addthis.com/
It should look something like this. Or you can see at the bottom of my posts on my blog page how it looks and works.
So just to wrap up here are some tips and mistakes in Social bookmarking.
Social bookmarking TIPS
- Identify each site’s general preferences, and bookmark accordingly as every site caters to a particular market/audience.
- Invite people who would really be interested in the content, not just people who will give you a vote without question. Those interested will also leave the best comments, which can generate good traffic.
- Almost every site makes it possible to connect with other people. If you are not connecting, no one will find you.
- Do not give-up after a short while. Social Bookmarking is about making and sustaining connections. The only way you can grow your influence is long term.
- Stop crying - if you hate the fact that it takes time, don’t do it at all. Every marketer does it!
- Use these tools to link to other resources. If you only link to your website or blog and never bookmark or link to other interesting resources, you will never gain the respect of your audience.
Social bookmarking MISTAKES
- Not reading the submission guidelines before posting your links on a site.
- Submitting to a bookmarking site that does not have your category or submitting to a wrong category.
- Bookmarking every single page of your site solely to create backlinks to your website.
- Not making use of other features made available to connect to other users.
- Spamming, lying, scamming and not providing good content!
So there you have it guys! A very simple, fast and effective way to start moving FREE traffic to your site.
So get started and if you have any questions or queries please feel free to contact me and I’ll help you out!
Stay tuned for the next HOW TO series where I will talk about directories and how to generate traffic from them!
